Three New Island Administrators Sworn In

After three months of training, three persons have been sworn in to become Island Administrators. The three newly-appointed Administrators are Mr. Earl Campbell, Mrs. Francis Hepburn Symonette and Mrs. Smith Ingraham. The three have worked in various agencies of the government.

During an induction ceremony held at the Department of Local Government on Monday morning, March 6, the new inductees were congratulated for their hard work and volunteerism. Minister of Financial Services and Local Government, the Hon. Hope Strachan said that the task ahead was a ‘daunting,’ but ‘rewarding’ one.

“You’re striking out into a new world with new responsibilities but the good thing is that, that path has already been beaten, therefore, please reach out to others to get the assistance that you need and try to use all the resources available to you so that you can do your best,” said Minister Strachan.

Also bringing brief remarks was Acting Director of the Department of Local Government, Charles King, who encouraged the new Administrators to seek support from others.

The new Administrators will be relocated to various Family Islands and will have the responsibility of managing the affairs of the respective islands where they will serve. They will work closely with all government agencies as their duties will encompass all facets of governmental operations.
